Woodwinds (clarinet, oboe, bassoon, etc.) are different from piano in that they require wind (created by the player) to create a tone (using a reed or reeds to create the vibrations needed for sound). Spencer Sweeney & Stereogum Present: Sessions At Santa’s
Feb 27th, 2009 by admin

Via Stereogum

NYC is historically a really boring city because there’s never been anything fun to do. That’s why we’re proud to announce a new music and art series which we’re presenting every Tuesday with Spencer Sweeney and our friend and yours Andrew W.K. Each week we’ll invite a guest curator to assemble a one-night-only lineup of performances and collaborations from sonic and visual art worlds at Santos Party House in downtown Manhattan. Our premiere night is this Tuesday 3/3, curated by Lizzi Bougatsos (Gang Gang Dance, UID) and Sadie Laska (Growing, Actress, UID), featuring performances from Black Dice’s Eric Copeland, DJ Matt Manderson (Neon Kobra Krew), Whitney Museum-celebrated video artist Alex Bag, and of course UID with Spencer Sweeney. The coming weeks promise Thurston Moore, Gibby Haynes, Hisham Bharoocha, Matt Sweeney, Daniel Higgs (Lungfish), and lots of rather excellent et ceteras.

Tickets are every week, with a recession-proof reduction if you RSVP. It’s a 21+ affair, so bring your ID. Buy all the tickets.

Here’s a flyer with the first few weeks at a glance:
